Book Review: The Deal by Elle Kennedy | Off-Campus #1

The Deal by Elle Kennedy
"Sometimes people sneak up on you and suddenly you don't know how you ever lived without them."

This story has a simple plot and yet it totally captured my heart. It made me smile, laugh, giggle, sad, and heart broken but in the end it made me warm and happy. A totally fun and interesting read.

Both Hannah and Garrett have a heart warming back story. Though they both have issues before, they were able to work through it. The story did not focus on those issues but it only acted as an added spice to the story.

Though at the start, Hannah has a crush on a certain football player, but apparently, he is not aware of her existence. Yet, thru Garrett's offer of a deal, she may find a way for her crush to finally notice her.
Hannah and Garrett's relationship as a not-so friends to friends is a refreshing start. There are no hurry in building up their relationship. It developed in a fun and interesting way. They had a fabulous banter. Garrett is really persuasive. Then, when Hannah finally accepts the deal offered by Garrett, everything naturally happened, they started hanging out and eventually one simple dare lead them to question their beliefs - Garrett on his thoughts on girlfriends, and Hannah on her feelings toward her crush. They did not expect to like one another but everything unexpectedly falls into place.

Although the story has some familiar plot, E.K had made a way to add some twists and unexpected turns. The climax is heart-breaking, but she manage to put an endless smile to my face. I even kept on chuckling.

This is a fun fun read, a really good read. I really enjoyed reading this one. I look forward on reading Garrett's best friend, Logan's story. As described in this book, they are somewhat we can call equally hot and gorgeous. Definitely going to read that one.
